Rosemarie Morelli Crocker

Rosemarie formally trained under many of the best in realism. After attending art schools for graphic design and illustration, and establishing herself as a surrealist painter, she met and was first mentored under Robert Douglas Hunter, who introduced her to the Boston School of Painters, a methodology revival in the discipline of 19th century French Academy established by R.H. Ives Gammell. She studied under Nadia Mahfuz, a student of Gammell, for 7 years learning traditional realism and impressionism. She then continued with private mentoring under Sergio Roffo, Joseph McGurl, Thomas Dunlay, David Curtis, and Eric Johnson—master in the techniques of Rembrandt and the Dutch School. She continued her training under New York portrait artist, Lois Wooley, of the Hudson River School influence; and most recently the world-renowned genre painter, Hongnian Zhang, of the Beijing Academy of Art.

Rosemarie’s diverse 40-year career as an artist includes: Environmental/Graphic Design and Art Direction for an extensive list of corporate clients; Project Manager and Art Consultant for Children’s Hospital 2-million dollar art installation budget; Commercial and residential Muralist; and being a National Juried Award-Winning and Exhibiting Artist. Now retired from the commercial art world, Rosemarie continues to paint subjects she loves, compete and exhibit while teaching out of her studio.

Rosemarie accepts portrait commissions in oils and charcoal, and scenes from photos of your favorite travels.
