Artist Bio
A resident of Foxboro for over 30 years, Sharon White began oil painting in 2018 after some life changes. With just a desire to learn, Sharon began oil painting instructions with artist Rosemarie Morelli at her Walpole studio. Just 2 short years into her training, the pandemic brought about serious challenges but Rosemarie’s classes continued with virtual lessons and then under a tent for outdoor sessions until the studio could reopen safely. To augment her art training, Sharon has worked with several other local artist in workshops and mentorships.
Sharon’s love of art and respect for the growing number of artists in her life, lead her to take the next amazing step. When the opportunity arose to open an art gallery in her home town to promote the arts and provide a venue for so many talented local artists to display and sell there work, she jumped at the chance. And so, The Painted Fox Art Gallery came to be!
When asked about her art, Sharon said this. “Art is my refuge. It brings me joy to start with a blank canvas and create something beautiful. My mind is quiet when I paint, it is peaceful. If my work inspires the same feelings of peacefulness in those who view it, then I have succeeded.”
Sharon's Duck Boots, won first place for oil paintings in the Foxboro Art Associ ation Spring 2025 Members Art Show. Her watercolor entitled The Garden at Le Vieux Couvent, received an award at the Foxboro Art Association’s Spring 2024 Show. Her Owl’s Head Lighthouse won Best in Show at Foxboro Art Association’s Fall 2022 Mem bers Show at the Artist’s Studio and Gallery in Patriot Place. Her works have been displayed at the Attleboro Art Museum, Art in the Park in Norwood, the Morini Gal lery at the Massachusetts Arts Center in Mansfield, the Gallery at the Marilyn Rod man Center in Foxboro and the True Grit Gallery in Middleboro.
In addition to her time spent painting, Sharon also enjoys kayaking, hiking, playing cards, and time with her family including 5 grandchildren and her cats, Obie and Misty.
