Angela Turner

Even when I was very young I knew colors would inspire me. My crayons talked to each other and had adventures. I remember drawing pictures of my stuffed animals and giving personalities to most everything.

I loved school and turned most projects into opportunities to make art. One particularly dreary February vacation I illustrated wildflowers. My only thoughts for college were art school and I attended Mass College of Art. I studied photography and education.

I spent 10 years as a professional photographer and lab technician. When my children were born I discovered I really loved to paint and it helped to keep my mind on art without the concern of it being a job.

I've been exhibiting professionally for over twenty years. I have been focusing on combining acrylic painting with mixed media collage and resin. It's an amazing visual combination that I really enjoy playing with. I've also been doing some home wall murals that combine furniture, sculpture and traditional wall decoration.

I also teach art and get great joy watching people light up when they find art is accessible. I've watched people view my art and get quiet. It's simply an amazing experience to feel people experiencing my world and finding it interesting.
